The first part (Basics of Hydraulics) reviews the general theory of hydraulics specifically for water supply, including open flow and water hammer. Each notion is reviewed and tested with corrected exercises. Many useful tables and charts with practical figures are given in the annexes.
The second part (Concept design) explains how to make the concept design of water supply systems, by separating each function of the system (storage, transport, pumping and distribution). For each part, an Excel tool was developed to help and facilitate the design of it. Then the different organs can be assembled and tested with a simulation software such as Epanet.
These tools will give your information difficult to see or not possible to calculate in Epanet such as piezometric profile, approximation of water hammer envelops or design with simultaneous factors for small networks.
The third part (Network Survey Manager) presents a powerful tool, conceived to facilitate the management and modification of data on a WSS, allowing quick transfer to/from Epanet, GIS, GPS or Google earth. It also helps to check the validity of the data and ease the correction, modification and renaming.
